Sustainable procurement

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate sustainable procurement practices of companies in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided in two parts. The first part focuses on theoretical background of sustainable procurement and its implementation in the company. The second part of the thesis elaborates on implementations of the theory outlined in the first part. Based on a survey, the author analyses sustainable procurement practices of large companies in the Czech Republic.
Development of MBI model in the implementation and management of electronic purchasing systems

This thesis covers an area of procurement of companies. It's specifically orientated on supporting the procurement processes by electronic purchasing system. In the first part there are by literature search, identified and analyzed key factors for successful realization of the implementation and management of electronic purchasing system. In the second part there is comparison of the case study in Unipetrol Services s.r.o. and the key factors of the first part, which is resulting in a deduction and generalization of best practices for implementation and management of electronic purchasing systems. The main benefit and also the outcome of this work is an extension of the reference model MBI, based on a facts and practical experience in procurement area.
Public procurement at the local government level

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate public procurement practices and elaborate recommended procurement procedures. The resulting part of the work is devoted to a research of selected municipal contracts in terms of volume and structure. It also shows the development of these contracts in the last five years. The research method for achieving the main aim of the work is a case study. Using two real public contracts is demonstrated a possible procurement process. The research via case studies does not serve to produce a generally valid conclusions. However, it is possible to draw several findings from the examples of public contracts. These findings are applicable to other municipal public procurement.
Procurement process in a manufacturing company in international environment

The diploma thesis deals with procurement process and ensuring of sources in a manufacturing company. The thesis is split into two parts. The first theoretical one deals with importance of procurement in creating economic value in a company, defines procurement, its goals and factors influencing it, describes procurement process, i.e. strategic sourcing, operational purchasing, procurement controlling, supplier relationship management, and procurement process support by IS/ICT. The second practical one analyses procurement process in a selected Czech manufacturing company in the mentioned areas and proposes recommendations for improvement.
